instead of one heavy coat use multiple lighter coats.
just keep the can about 6 inches from the surface and keep the can moving from outside the area across the object and overlap your coats.
it is very hard to describe in writing how to paint.
it really comes with experience.
it requires first that we practice on some neighbors boxes !
hey- TA - check you pm today

Damn that is sexy!
How many coats are you going to give it? Are you going to give it a clear coat to protect the paint also?
hey TA before you reassemble the conion i recommend you buy one of the dial light upgrades from kittmaster. they are under 100 bucks and are super cool. i love mine

Three coats should do it.
no clear neccesary unless you want it to be shiney it is not a protectant.
nicely done.
YOU'RE A GOD . I may be new to colectables but eaven a 1st grader could tell you thats a good paint job....DAMN GOOD
you know i think you should do a box to match your ta sheme sometime. i mean not necessarily a box like this but it would be a cool thing to do. maybe with one of the cheaper big boxes. oh wait there is no such thing anymore....
Looking great T/A! I'm loving it. Cool updates too.

No thats my other Conion I had to use it as a reference when I was hot gluing all the harnesses back in place.
As soon as I get it back together I am going to take a shot of the twins together.
transamguy1977 - 2008-02-18 15:38
Thanks for all the praise and support guys I really love the way it came out.
I dont think I will ever part with it at this point as
I feel like I gave birth to it
I may put the other one on the bay when its assembled
as I see no need for two.
Besides that I have a few more radios in line for resto including The Rising and a soon to arrive M-90 that is in dire need of a overhaul. Oh yeah and I am very close to finishing my M-70 and it is coming along very nicely.
You gave her a second chance and you have top the most finest restoration I've seen so far. She was like the ugly duckly to now a swan, you take the cake Transamguy well done!
Is there some type of S2G award for this guy!

I've seen a few of the same models I have knocking about, but I've left them because I already have one. I don't see the point of having more than one of a certain model, because they're just the same as each other. I feed on the huge range of models out there, and enjoy adding different boxes to my collection.
We all have different opinons and tastes we all have the right to collect whatever model we like best
If you like two or three then by all means, get two or three.

Wow, Frank, that's an amazing job. Big ups to you for being so patient! Please bring this monster out for Cedia this year, I'd like a closer looksie! I'll grab my TRC935, we'd create quite a stir in just one lap around the convention...
