Hello all. A lot of people missed the reasoning behind the post entitled 'Not helping people out'.
I just want to make clear that I am very happy here!!
Please see here for a detailed explanation of what that post was all about!
All the best boomboxing to you all!
Me Too! I try to be here everyday.Thats more than I can say for my job!!!
Nothing but love for you, Mirko!
no worries, i get your point of view.
I feel the same sometimes when i see those fantastics collections full of holy grails, etc
Is more easy is you live in china, honk kong, taiwan or usa, more stuff out compared whit the anothers countries but hey is the boombox "hunt" and we love the hard missions.
but dude, your collection is awesome, don't worry, always you can compare your collection whit the mine and you can feel good

Skippy, this is the motto I live by. May you become one with the philosophy, it makes the 5 day work week soooo much easier to tolerate
I feel some here might not be actually getting use out of their collections. If not, they are missing out on most of the joy of owning them.Of course functional problems are common with old blasters. This can turn a boombox into merely an artistic ornament in the worst cases. However,If you have acquired a collection of any decent size, you should have enough units that function if only in part.Don't worry so much about that missing tape door or the box that just won't power up.Use what you have and whichever features work on them.Make mix tapes or CDs and feed them into the line in.Try new music or diversify into podcast listening. It's nice to have a different "flavor of the day" when it comes to sound.Since most of my boxes get much use,I'm not feeling like I have to be constantly getting something new to derive pleasure from this hobby.
Jovie, Check with Ira, he has extra cardboard.

Don't forget to ask for tape, baling wire and chewing gum. It is low quality cardboard!
i have to agree with that jovie because the mayority of the times we dont use the bbx at all they are mostly sitting in our shelf, had to replace a belt to one and a small plastic wheel that broke off my rc-550 tuning dial because of not using it at all so yes there are other ways to use our bbx........
I can see your point of view.
It happens to me too. Some threads can lower the interest of boomboxing. Collecting BBX's is interesting because they are out of production, as time passes they kept dissapearing, there aren't some fixes, so owning a BBX in mint and working condition looks like a real hobby, like owning a lotus or an old gun.
The other side, some members picks BBX very easy, lots of them for only a few dollars once a weak. I would do the same if I were they .... They aren't guilty about nothing.
But posting about this lots of BBX makes the art of collecting and restoring lees interesting.
Why I need to restore my rebadged RX5600 ?. Because in five years only see one. I bought it, and it was not in mint condition with a nearly dead deck and missing knows. The worst, I paid 70 dollars (not cheap). With the same money others buy an M70, the RX5600 and a Sharp to complete. Restoring seems disapointing ..
I really want a National of my avatar. And also an RF520. But I can't buy it. Even when a have money, I can't. So I'm waitting (about three years) to something like this BBX appears in some local dealer. But my contry isn't a goldmine of BBX. The electronics here always had been entry level. The National that can I pick (I most wait a loooooooong) are entry level. They are good ,like all panasonic, but far from the rs4300 level.
I've never seen a 777, a CF100, a big-ben, a studio M1 or a RX7000.
So what can I do. Nothing with this, keep waiting.
BeatBox ,you lost me on this one - maybe I just tried to hard to figure it all out! But I am on your side no matter what the point was!!!

Hehehe! Well thats great to hear. And don't worry, it seems I lost quite a few peeps on that one. Oh well, with something so passionate as boomboxing, maybe I should try not to analyse it so much and just get on with collecting.
Thanks for backing me up though no matter what!
