Lately, I've been getting outbid or outspent on eBay, but my luck changed tonight as I have won a Sharp GF-9494X!

Thanks guys! When I missed out on Vladi's GF-9696, this one was next on my list. I really like the chrome caps better than the black on the 9494. Plus, this one's a 35W model!

I've always been interested in the 9494s and wondered how they may sound. There was one at a local second hand store but the dude wanted way too much for it. They're quite big as I remember. You scored well.

35w is a power consumption, output power: 4+4w for every version, no matter what face badge says: 12, 13 or 22 watts. it's a manufacturer's little trick.

I wouldn't necessarily say you missed on mine - both of my GF-9696 have sold, but I yet have to get any money for them!!

I was watching your last 9696 as well and was thinking about bidding on it if it didn't pass $250 but I got side tracked and totally missed it. Sounds like I wasn't the only one with that thought.
MB84 - I have not heard from the buyer yet, and I'm PRAYING I never will, because last night when I was drunk - I opened this Sharp and I fixed it - HA!! HA!!! So now everything works 100% as far as I can tell!!!!

You opened the box while you were drunk and fixed it? Does that mean you figured out the forumula on how not to f*** up your boxes, and in fact figured out the best way for you to work on your boxes?
That buyer is getting a great deal if he actually pays you but with your recent luck selling boxes it looks like receiving payment is a 50/50 chance at best.

But as far as I recall - I was sitting on the floor and spraying contact cleaner on everything that moved inside the box - and laughing my ass off -for some reason it was funny to me at the moment!!!
And I got up this morning - I didn't even remember I did anything, but then I found an almost empty can of contact cleaner - I used more than half of it!!!!!
And I turned the Sharp on - and everything works!! I'm an excellent drunken boombox guru, I guess!!

Hey Vlad, you are one funny mutha! I actually had quite the laugh reading your post about breaking again if you hear from the buyer.
Supposedly, the seller of the GF-9494X is a female. Maybe it was taken care of?
It'll definitely be getting a Fatdog detailing when it arrives! I'll probably head to Kinko's tomorrow to get some of my new 9494 stickers printed and have them ready to go too.
