Can anyone tell me about this product, i.e what it is worth now, in mint condition, is it worth keeping? I do not know a lot about boomboxes so please help!
I thought we had a sticky here about boombox values but what it's worth is basically what one person is willing to pay at any particular point in time. That could change from day to day, week to week.
Is it worth keeping? I suppose that question has nothing to do with the actual value since what difference would it make? If it was worth $1 would you keep it and if it was worth $10, does that make it more "keep-able" or less? If you like it, it provides utility, then it is worth keeping. If you never use it and it does nothing for you, then just sell it and use the money for something else that you enjoy.
But if you want to sell it, post it up and I'm sure someone that really wants it will hit you up. Because you ask the question whether it's worth keeping, it really tells me that someone else out there wants it more than you do, including ME.
I had one here for almost a year, a parts piece.The coolest thing about it was the condenser microphones located in the handle, and big sound too. Th loaded deck is a nice feature , as is the overall aesthetics of the unit..
What`s it worth? Post it on ebay !
Great box, but, the deck is an absolute pain to work on.

Daddysmami, i think you got a GEM, but sounds like you either dont know much about radios, or you are not a collector, this radio in mint condition as you put it, should bring you decent money if you want to sell it, ebay will be your best bet, if you want to keep it, will be because you like it alot or for sentimental reasons, or just to enjoy it seeing it play, either way hope you take the right decision, good luck.
by the way i dont own one but i would like to have one some day.
Yup,Litfan is right- the loaded decks are very tricky- but after working on several SK-31`s, the entire problems seem to be located in the limit switches, and a few very small springs that are difficult to remove and replace..
Ha ha. Wished i`d have known that at the time. Boy, the pain that 95 put me through.
Cool.. thanks for the brochure. Is there a page missing? Since I see the images as sk2, sk3 and sk4. So wondering is there an sk1 someplace?

If you like it you should keep it. If you want rid of it, Please don't throw it away. I lost two of these in the Navy. Sure wish I could get another. My favorite boom box of all time. These radios had the best vu meters of any stereo. They were easy to read, fun to watch and not chinsey looking.
my advice would be to keep it too, they don,t get much better than pioneer.
would i be right in saying pioneer is an american brand??
Let me know if you are interested in selling this SK-95. I had one in high school, wish I hadn't sold it!

I finally bought one of these! I'm psyched to get it and start reconditioning it.
So far I've found and purchased the Sony CFS-77 and the Pioneer SK-95.....the only one I had in high school that I haven't been able to find is the Aiwa CS-880. If anyone knows of one available, please let me know.
I was watching one of these on e-bay today but won a Sony Instead. Lol Long story.

SK-95 is one of the best sounding single piece stereos. Sweet and no-fatigue to the ears.
And a treat to the eyes as well with its 12 segment LED VU meter.
