well folks ive finally begun back on the ladder of better boxes.a mate of mine has just picked me up a gf9191 for 25 quid-says its all fine and sounds fantastic-but what i want to know is this-how does it compare to the 9090 in the sound stakes?ive had a 9090 and loved it,till the deck fecked up-i know it looks better than the 9090 but does it sound better?ill pick it up friday morning so will do one of my crazy reviews at some point too!

i've haad both,they do sound a bit different,but not massively,they definately not worlds apart,i've still got a 9191,i paid £50 for it,but the deck has always not been 100%,i'm not really keen on them,i prefure the more modern look like GF575/8989.

Edit the the last,i just dug it out,blew some dust off it,gave it a blast,i changed my mind,the 9191 sounds pretty cool,its loud with quite nice bass..but i do stick by the sound part,i've got heaven 17-luxery gap blasting,and with the bass up,i can only get to half volume and its starts coughing like its smoking 40 fags a day

you won,t be dissapointed with the 9191 ANDY mate, it looks alot nicer than the 9090 and a little bigger, more chrome, more blaster looking, not much difference in sound between them but still the 9191 does it in looks, one of my all time faves, im sure you,ll love it

well guys ive now picked it up-and thanks to a pleasent surprise,and the fact i took my mate a really groovy early seventies designer alarm clock,i got the 9191 for,wait for it.....£10!

well az mate your statement of i woulnt be dissapointed with it rings totally true!i know you had one and always shouted its praises to me so knew one day i had to hunt one down and bag it.mine isnt mint by any stretch of the imagination,but like you say the sheer presence this box projects is awesome-the chrome,the sheer weight,the sound-and BM i agree to the similarities between the two boxes,but for looks alone the 9191 doesnt just wing it but it blows the other away.its gonna need a good clean,the switches are a little scratchy and at first when me and my mate switched it on the vu meters were flapping around all over the place.all seems to be well now though-so another one saved-my top box now.
