i'm playing some dubstep through my Philips D8644,the sound is mental loud and clear, and the bass off the thing is just savage, its got to be one of the loudest boxes ever, its just crazy ! its massive and weighes a metric tonn.. i have a D8734 which is about the same size but the 8644 just laughs in its face, the 8734 sounds poor compared to this animal..i think everyone should have one of these..but turn it up too much and it will kill you

Thanks for the review BM, I've seen them for sale every now and then, but never considered purchasing one. My favorite box right now is the RC-M90. It has great highs and vocals, and lot's of output.

I defo know what you mean about the speaker clips, its a stupid idea not having any,i wonder why they never put any on ? i can understand why they never put any on the 8644 because the main unit is plastic but the speakers are wood and they are expremely heavy,so i imagine the movement of the speakers could crack the casing of the main body..but on the 8734 the speakers are cheapo plastics..
retro yes the M90 can take such a thrashing,i remember when i had rimsters here for fixing,it sounded nice !

I'm Sorry for starting this thread chaps, because i can no longer choose my fave box, when i kicked tunes out on my pc5,that was my fave, but then i get another out, then that becomes my fave,so i cant make my mind up now..
But there is a few that are my fave for looks but not for sound GF9000,sound quite good but not purfect, but i do have one with different speakers and that sounds loads better,Lasonic 975,looks awsome, looks beautifull but has too much bass, cant explain, but the bass makes it sound not good, and i used to own a discolite, the lights were great, but it had a slight issue with the sound,i think the word is..hmm,errrm,whats that word..ermm,Ahh thats it, i i remember it now,the word is crap..it sounded crap, very crap..

JVC RC-550 It's Big, LOUD & Outside !!! Who really cares about the stereo effect after you are a few feet away from your Music playing through it.
Yes it is NOT high Fideliy & when you are outside with No reverberations to bounce your sound off of who's worried about the lack of deep bass or tinny highs.
Plus it is a Big box and it get Look's unlike any other 'little' stereo box outside.
Best of all it Is very Energy efficeint on batteries versus sound output, plus it has built in protection if it falls forward among other little features like a dial light &
