Hi, for me the need to have a ghettoblaster started when I was about 12, got a TCR set (like scalextric) for xmas or my birthday, 1st one broke and was exchanged, by then I decided I needed out in favour of portable loud music, out came the superglue, full refund on the grounds the car had seized solid!

Think my very first one was a Sharp, this broke whilst under warranty and I quickly conned bank of mumich into a Sanyo C5.

It is from then on my confusion lies, at some point the need for yet another upgrade took place.

The only information/pictures I have been able to find that look remotely like or similar in resemblance is the Akai AC-M33OL midi stack. The system model number/pictures I am looking for, from memory, is nigh on identical to that model except for the fact, mine was obviously capable of running from 8 x HP2 batteries, had a handle that folded flat into the top, came supplied with an external record deck in the same footprint and the speakers were detachable.

Up until child I then designed and built PA cabinets, rented out sound systems and become a general nuisance to society, until, the Criminal Justice Bill changes made in the 90's all but outlawed illegal parties or raves.

Any light that can be thrown on this would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for taking time to reply, unfortunately I have already seen that, it is not listed on there? Think it was actually classed as a midi stack but luckily was portable...JUST, I put a camera strap on it to lug it around, the thing was about 30" l x 12" w x 14"h

I think you possibly maybe the man...;) Tape deck side right 'cause I remember LCD soon as I see it and soft touch buttons, I thought it was digital tuner but was nigh on 30yrs back, so I'm probably wrong...;) Brings back memories seeing that, don't think I ever bought batteries for the thing, someone would always go how many you want 8 LoL

I had a couple of these but they went ages ago.....if you like this you need to get a jvc pc55 much more power and better sounding....plus the 55 has a similar display to the akai only it's nicer....btw welcome aboard man...

RR think if I was to incorporate a coolection of blasters into my home, the other half would go nuts!!! She already has to live my boy n' me that bad enough LoL N' that's not to mention the capture of one room for our toys, 3 ATV's and 2 solo's, plus everything else, I really need to build a garage someday first...;)

About your Akia - there's bound to be a version of the PJ-43 with a digital tuner, although I'll bet any of those 'transportable' Akias will be pretty rare. Keep an eye out on eBay, etc...

i had a Pj43 years ago,it was ok but not brilliant,sound was ok,but the cassette deck like most i've seen for sale was faulty,and they are awkward to repair..

i would love this PJ41,with the cassette deck and speakers from the 43,and just take the silver deck door from the 41 deck and put it on the 43 deck so it would kind of match..
