hello peeps...im just doing the belts on one of my m9998`s..............what a fu@#ing nightmare..............just thought id share that with you all  

  i had never been inside a 9998 but i believe you, some radios are just a pain to work on .

Haha, been there, done that Dave, many times.  So I sympathize and agree with you.  Not the easiest box to work on.  Certainly NOT a beginner box to learn to rebelt on.

i know....i thought the sony cfs 77 and 88 were tough but this thing is killing me

yeah good luck bushy-i woulnt go near the guts of my m9990 for the same reasons

well iv managed to re-belt it....it was like wrestling with a hairy dog.....just gotta put it all back together now..........that should be fun

just to clarify.....its a silver 9996 and not a 9998.....although my 9998 need doing as well......bummer.........anyway reno its done but just need putting back together.....you know a bit like humpty dumpty.........

ahh I thought it was a 9998....good luck with that....that's why i only attempt the m90....there so easy under normal situations.....btw dave I diddn't forget the manual lad.. I just don't know where it is...a bit like my brain....talk of humptydumty
