Im new to this forum, nice to see the love for boombox is strong.

I've been buying Boxes here and there in local repair shops or flea markets..i have a small and humble colection...very nice to see the crazy ass collection you guys have.

Hi Cholo,i am in Manchester,UK..just saw the boxes on tinypic,if your collection is an M70,M90,a Lasonic and (is the last 2 a Helix and a mona?) its a small collection but definately not that humble,thats substantial,awsom,wicked,fantastique :-)

the last 2bboxes are : the golden one is a Tecsonic MX900 and the other is a MURA...forgot the exact model.

you can see on my profile pict i have a Sharp GF9494...but need some work done on it, the Bass and Treble is not working

Great collection!

The Tecsonic looks eerily like the double cassette version of the Prosonic PQR 9850. I wonder if it was produced and re-branded for different countries and/or locales.

Do you know any more about it Cholo1?...I'm very curious ...I've had the Prosonic PQR since new and remember the store I bought it at...but I'd never seen the Tecsonic make here in Toronto stores.

If I had, I'm sure the double cassette would have won me over

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome...even from Texas @Brutus 442...i found the Tecsonic at this repair store in NDG Montreal. I got the Prosonic PQR 9850 silver color that looks like the Tecsonic, you are right it looks like it but since its a double tape there's additional options on the Tecsonic ...Theres a collector here in MTL that wants to trade me the Tesonic Super JumboClairtone 7985 for it, cant decide if i want finalise the the deal or not!

Thanks Cholo1, I'd never even heard or Tecsonic locally but only via the Internet. I was completely unaware they were sold in Canada...We learn something everyday!

Regarding the trade, think carefully. How rare is your Tecsonic? It may be harder to comeby in the future and certainly has some unique features. It may not have sold well initially making even more rare in the "big box" league.

My thoughts...hang on to it and scan the web for more info. Regardless of my opinion..enjoy the boomboxes, the crazy members here, and the remainder of the summer!

Say, you have a nice collection, couldn't help but notice you have a MURA...do you remember the headphones they made in the early 80's? Ever seen 'em?? Amazing sound quality!! If you happen upon a pair, let me know...I'll try to set up something to buy them from ya.
