I reckon we need a buying/selling rule inplace

After noticing a certain Newbie spamming our boards with what they have to sell I reckon we need some form of barrier, alot of other forums have a post limit access rule inplace meaning that before you can enter the forums market place you need to have proven to be a valid member first who contributes to disscussions.
Some prevent those under the limit from seeing the sale sections other allows them to see but cant post new threads, so they are able to buy at the sellers discretion and they are able to post wanted threads where those of the correct post count can offer them their items, and those failing to apply to the rules get the posts removed, warned and then banned if it happens again.
This way a lot less scams have been carried out and sellers are often trusted more as people have got to know them over time.

Im not sure we need to go down that road....we don't want to end up like the other sight...that member will sell her warez and be gone soon enough,,imho

I think what you have in mind is right
minimum post count to sell - you can then deal with members
I'm feed up with people scamming (like i'm being done at the mo )
It takes time to gain trust and most of us members have a rep to keep
New peeps come on here and mess us about, don't care about rules or etiquette
it works on the rest of the sites i'm on
i'm all for it

Yea this..is possibly a good idea,,but where does it end...next there will be a back room...in wich everybody can slag you off and lie about you..with out you knowing..or being able to defend yourself,,,i was all for boomboxery's back room....untill it was used against me...anyway this is possibly a good idea ...contact retro or...STG (paul)....im sure they will put it into action...if they feel it's justified..

Its those people that this sort of rule keeps out.
As to talking behind others backs that is down to the level of moderation, sales talk should be kept to sales talk and not verbal abuse, I assure you if I see it I will report it.
Ill PM the realevant people tomorrow when my brain is working.

im not against anyone selling anything sega,im still new to this forum ive only been on it for four months, the guy that messed me about was brand new on the forum, but ive noticed good ebay sellers new the forum too so its a tough call.

Im not saying stop people selling Bison, what Im saying is stop people we dont know selling so less people get ripped off and we dont get spammers trying to sell their wares.
With a post counter in place it means people have to put the effort in, and usually that puts scammers off and it also means we know the person we are buying from a bit better.

very true Sega mate
I'm still having probs with the ebay seller selling my GF-525 - shizaudio is the other person who owns the other picture he is using
putting in hard work of posting puts of most spammers off or leaves a trail

In the meantime, when you come across a 'for sale' post that interests you, use the Advanced Search to view all posts by the seller. If there's no valid contribution to s2g in their posts, run a mile.
Sure, it's not foolproof, (reminds me of the Kool Moe Dee lyrics: "I got a little system, so I can tell, Doesn't always work, but what the hell"), but it'll show up a lurker/seller instantly.
