Just doing a search on ebay for a ghetto blaster - and low and behold there's a nice one - sure is nice COS IT'S F^%KING MINE

 : they are using two of my pictures, but making out that this is the box that is selling and the buyer will get

so is the best thing to do report him to ebay, or is there another way to stop him ?  (apart from a good kicking)

Looks dodgy even if we didnt know it was yours, Id report it asap before some poor sod gets stung.

I had a good one here once, a person emailed me with a picture of my own Hitachi (which I was infact looking directly at when the email came in) offering to sell it to me.

I tried to confront the person on a thread here where they had picked up on my hitachi but the OP thought I meant them and I think I may have offended them, to whoever that was Im sorry.

I think we need a full dont touch this section to protect people as you often find when people really want something they will beleive anything.

your right we need a don't touch section for members only - no public view or they will run

my bmx mate are going to have a bit of fun first and ask a couple of questions - close up pic's and see if they will take a huge high price for it ?

I do have reservations on posting photos of my collection online for this reason too. It is very interesting to note that Google Images pretty much picks up all the images from this forum, so any images from here are fair game for misrepresentation. Luckily my images so far are internal only, and not a lot of use to lazy people on eBay trying to hawk wares for money whether real or imagined.

the only way is to ink stamp them when using your photo account - spoils it if you put it right across the image

i don't mind people using my image if it's for a good reason - selling an item and misleading a buyer is wrong - they might not even have a box for sale - look at his feedback score - some thing wrong there - seems to be a scam

Newbie here but eBay has a policy against sellers using images they find on websites.  You can read about it here:

eBay members are not allowed to use images—including photos and other pictures—or text they didn't create themselves. Exceptions to this policy would be if they are authorized to do so by the owner, its agent, or the law.

There's some links on the page you can follow to report listings, but it looks like they're for images stolen from previous eBay listings.  eBay maybe makes reporting this case more difficult than they should?

you can ask question to see if he will slip up - but don't give the game away

Id do it but my ebay account is similar in naming to me forum accountants so he might think somethings up, ebay arent usually that botherd unless it affects their money so Id expect some delay.

I know this is a crappy temporary solution but, perhaps we should start "watermarking" our images posted here, in a obvious location with "S2GO or even the entire web address.

At least until Ebay shapes up....

yes watermarking would be good but as you know when looking at a box pic, it can spoil it

Police wont do anything and their english is terrible, even if that was Text talk its still really really bad.

This is a classic scam response. Any collector/ seller worth his/her credentials would satisfy a buyer's request for something as simple as additional pics.

You're not asking for anything more than assurances that the device is as listed.

I guess you better stay away from the door because the POLICE will be arriving soon Bendycat!

So now you have a choice - take the item you say you have off of ebay or carry on to the end and get caught by ebay for using without permission my picture of the ghetto blaster i own You see i own the box in the picture and no one has given you permisson to use or pretend that you own the box to sell it I think the Police will be very intrested in what you have to say about selling some thing that is not yours I also know that one of the other photo's is a friend of mine and he is not happy about this either All of this has been reported to Ebay and they will look into why you are trying to sell some thing that is not yours to sell

Now it is up to you to take it off or the Police and ebay will talk to you and come pay you a visit !
