Thanks to the glorious thing known as freecycle and some kind people in a near by village I now have a Panasonic RX-DS25.
It looks 90's as its got the rounded shape, whilst its not very wide or tall its quite deep which should bode well for quality sound.
Ive not got any photos yet as Im having a nice cold Ale before I clean it down as its quite dirty, radio is working but the other functions are as yet untested.
Ill post pics when Im all done.

i dont remember my 4th box,it was in the late 80s,early 90s,the 2 i do remember getting is my Philips D8734 in 1994,i've still got it,and i bought my Jvc pc55 from my mate on my 26th birthday in 1996,and i've still got that too..
i used to have a pana ds45 years ago, they are quite well made boxes, mine all worked but the cd was not good..they have a nice sound from what i remember, not massive bass though, but sometimes loads of bass does'nt matter..
sega, give that box a good clean and see how it looks after,it will probebly come up real good, sometimes we have to thank the dirt and grime, the crap protects boxes from fading and general ware..i like it when i get a box and its filthy dirty, then i spend a day cleaning it,and it shines up like new..great feeling bringing it back to life..

Ive got the worst of the dirt and plaster off and done some testing, CD, Tape and radio work, there seems to be a difference in vibration when you put XBS on 3 but the Volume buttons dont appear to work. I cant open it up as I cant find a long enough screwdriver at the moment. The volume isnt bad as it is, you can hear it nice and clear but in a working enviorment or a busy public place you wont hear it very well, its cerntainly no where near to scareing the other 3 at the minute.
Ive blasted the contact cleaner in where I can and Im going to ask a mate if I can use his air compresser and gun to blow more of the dirt out.
Heres the pics of it on my work bench

Belive me if it was one of those s***y eggs it would have got it and been youtubed but this one feels well made and from what I can find from googling it seems a fairly good box and a major plus with this one is parts can still be easiley bought from parts places.
I just need to find out whats gone wrong in the volume switch, annoyingly its push buttons as opposed to dial or slider so I cant try what I did on the hitachi.
If I can find an egg and a microwave, Im going to make my own cooking programme
