VU Meter from my Conion - New Graphics

I love my Conions but was never crazy for the color and shape of the VU meters. What you see is a test fitting. The design is needle accurate. Please note - for the purists - the original graphics were not damaged.
Original above - new below - both pictures are of the same VU Meter from my Conion

I used a program called Visio. I took a picture of the original meters and put it into Visio as a background. Then I traced the critical paths of the original picture in the foreground. This allowed me to keep the scale so the indicators are still correct. Then a spent a couple weeks retooling the graphics until I came up with the new style that I could live with. My main goal was to get rid of the yellow and the blue. The style is a derivative of my M90 meters which are just beautiful. Printing was a Laserjet color printer on high quality paper. The new graphic is laying on top of the old graphic. If you look closely, you can see the blue and yellow on top.

The top picture is the original from the top. It's is a little bit blurred because of the resizing to find the right size. After finding the right size, I shrunk the picture using vectoring allowing me to retain the clearity. I also changed the battery and tuning graphics a little bit. I plan on putting the cut lines on the graphic so its easier to fit and I will go back to the double boxes.

Wouldn't it have been easier to do what i did a few years ago and just put another set of meters from another tape deck that fit perfectly...?
