not had one some of them look fine,  down to the individual i myself  like odd balls something different

THe ones I see online look pretty nice, like they might have some decent sound/power..

Comparable to Realistic maybe?  My desk unit is GE, small 3-piece box that plays tapes or radio.. For the size, I was impressed with the sound quality

These are my 2 fave G.E boxes..i doubt i will ever own any of them because they were never sold here..

I bought this GE recently, thanks to a guy from Canada who found it for me.  I had one in the 80's, and wanted to get it again.

I have two GE boxes and a few radios ect. that I'me very fond of. The "Blockbuster" is outstanding and the detachable one sounds good. It dosen't have as much bass as the Blockbuster, but I find it slightly better than youre average box. The radio on it is outstanding to say the lest. Every radio nut knows the "Superadios". Those are the 2, 3 (RCA verstion), and original model. The various "walkman" types on top of the Blockbuster have ecellent reception, the micro AM only "Marquis" has the best perfomance of any walkam/ultralight I own including the well known Sangean and Sony models.

The other three are form my childhood inducing an old "Loudmouth 2" 8-track/radio.

If anyone's interested the others with the Superadios and detachable are aren't GE. One is a Panasonic RF-2200 and the other a (built by GE) Realistic SCR-2.

Overall I'd say they made some good stuff for the most part up until about 1986.

Have 3 GE walkmans, kinda close! 

Those big brick GE cassette/radio walkmans were everywhere back in the day becouse they were built like a tank and resonably priced. They were a good bang for your buck, and because they run on four batteries they'll rock a set of headphones.. The only problem is that they're HUGE. Close is right

I've often thought about getting one of those just for the fun of it. I never had one back in the day. I'd usually sport either a radio or tape player (or sometimes both) when it wasn't feasible to lug a box.
