i have never seen our ebay so bad

blufuz - 2011-12-16 09:08

I agree - pretty boring on epay lately. I did manage to win an auction a couple days ago for this gem:

Not sure how it flew under the radar with all you vultures around  but $115 for a Clairtone 20/20 is a fantastic price. Glad to have won it.

nah..nothing on the dock of the bay these days, but i'm not really looking at the moment, giving it a rest for a while,i would still buy a box if i see one cheap or on a buy it now,but if its down to bids i dont really bother, not into bidding wars and all that,i never win coz i'm a bit like badger,i aint no fool going silly on a box,or for anything else.

lovely looking box
not a bargain when you figure in shipping - or the risk of oversea shipping

I'll be in the big country soon - sell of my old EU stuff and get some luvly cheap US chrome monsters - whilst my wallet is still in pound mode, these things are gonna look mighty mighty cheap

Please don't try to say that my question "why did you erase..?"

does mean: "I want you to tell.."

I'm still mulling over this and I agree, who pays 3k on a PC, in fact, what PC can you get for £3k?  Or is it a special Farmville machine?

It easy to spend 3k on a workstation, I spend way over that, but needed it for video editing and not just youtube videos, but for clients, hosting sites and programming, parts cost alone is  8 core xeon CPU, which cost $1200 on eBay, a Adaptec 6805 SAS RAID Controller $550, 4x 2tb Western digital enterprises drives around $600, 4x 300gb SAS seagate cheetah 15k.4 raid 0 $1250, intel server motherboard $600, had a 570 but upgraded to a GTX 590 video card $300, 64gb system ram $500, PSU $250, soundcard, auzentech hd $200 server/workstation tower case $125 and dual viewsonic VP2650WB $1400. total not including fans and ETC cost around $6925. You see the workstation in some of my videos, as I built the machine and most of the parts bought off eBay, to avoid paying retail prices.

If you are just looking for a computer for basic internet $500 will get the job done. But some people need the extra power and redundancy and reliability, if your job or business require it, or computer enthusiast and gamers. But definitely won't spend that kind of money, if I didn't need it, as their much better things to do with 7k.

Now to get back to the thread. As far as eBay goes with the prices, won't even bother anymore they are just way to high, some people go as high as asking the price of a decent used car? Unfortunately it's not even private owner's that are asking these crazy prices. But business and powerseller's that bought the item dirt cheap and ask the price of gold for it and don't even bother to take the time to restore it or even test the item. It not even worth it as a investment, your never make any money at thoses ridiculous prices. Plus the fun is finding them at garage sales and meets, hunting for them and getting them at a realistic price. Who whats to say that they paid 2k for a JVC m90? Your look like a idiot, I rather say $100 bucks for a m90 and actually spent time fixing it and cleaning it up, then enjoying it, not having to think, I have way to much money into it!!
