This is a one of a kind JVC boom box in excellent condition. Please see pics, only three minor blemishes. Overall I would give it a 9.7 out of 10 cosmetically.  Mechanically tape player works and turns on and off but sometimes does not play sound. The tape player motor itself still works and turns.  Audio sounds excellent!

(((((((((((((This boombox was very influential in rap history could be worth millions 100000000 years from know can be yours for way less!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!))))))))))))))

Good Point.........

BOOMBOXS IDENTICAL TO THIS GO FOR THOUSANDS 1000S BROKEN ALL SCRATCHED UP NO ORIGINAL ANTENNAS NOT IN WORKING ORDER

Item location: New York , United States Shipping: Free -- Standard Shipping (FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery).

(( of course ))....

See more and more of these ebay sales of sky high price - seller hopes that some one will offer lower than asking but still a high price as they have no idea of the price in the first place

just how long will it be on there at that price, when he gets loads of offers around or near the actual price it should go for

but i'm sure the money from the sales will go to helping find another universe with mind altering substances (yup the pic above )

When will people learn that if you have 6 or more photos, it's actually cheaper to click the Supersize option?

deliverance - 2011-12-29 08:13

retrodos - 2011-12-29 08:42

Fu#ken idiot seller, is it restore? fu#k no is isn't !!

I sell anyone here a fully restore JVC M90, with all capacitors changed, new fuse resistors, tape transport torn down and relube and oil and rebuilted, not a single spec of dust or even a scratch on the box and nothing broken. To top that show you a video of the work being done to it and a demo of it, with 90 day warrenty for 4k, not even a quarter of what this jackoff is asking. And yes I do take paypal with 100% feedback.

Not the case, he actually trying to get that somewhere around that outrageous price !! I made him a more reasonable offer and did get declined. I might start listing stuff like that, if he actually sell it. It's does seem to bring alot more attention and notice that someone made a offer that pending, which is way more then what I and most other people are willing to pay for the box with a broken cassette. My first one made a offer of $680 and bought it, when the seller was asking $1200?  The real question is does the buyer actually pays?

stretch - 2011-12-29 11:44

Another reason people likely do this is it puts their auction at the top when arranged by price, so it gives them instant attention. The psychological aspect is that this radio is seen as being "on top" of the rest, literally, so you might not realise it, but when you see it listed for soooo much, perched at the top spot on the list, you might be willing to offer more for it.

Do agree with that, price higher then accept the best offer.

Well if the buyer wants to resell for profit, he/ she better do it before the end of 2012, what with the end of  the Mayan calender and all.....

Does this mean that if someone offers that much money for your box, you'd turn it down?

richard.d - 2012-02-05 23:26

I was browsing on Ebay for "JVC Boombox" and came across that same RC-M90. $45,000. WHAT??????? I sent the seller a question asking if that was a typo, was I imaging that $45,000 price? He said "No, that is my price. Not a typo here." Holy Cow! I would NEVER pay that kind of price no matter WHAT kind of boombox it is. (if I had that much money, I'd buy a new car instead) We are completely happy with the $305.00 that was paid for a really clean, perfectly working JVC PC-55. $45,000.... Hah. Shortly after the 45K M90 episode, I saw another one go for a little ove $2,900. I bid on that one, but stopped when the bid got to $400.00.

No.

I'll happily go on the record right now to say if someone wants to offer me $45k for my fully working M90, they'll have themselves a deal

marteen - 2012-02-06 08:06

Hey all, I stumbled upon this thread while trying to research repair options for an M70 I found last week at an estate sale.  The thing was sounding perfect when I first brought it home and then, while playing music from my desktop via the 'line-in', it just started going all distorted and wouldn't turn up past level two or so on the volume.  Also, it lost its ability to pick up any radio channels.

If I had to guess, I'd say it had been sitting, unused, for many years before I came to own it.  Also, I wasn't cranking it or anything, it was just on a low, listening level, playing some Glenn Gould (...I'm a party animal, I know).

Any pointers or advice on repair options?  I took the back off and the only thing I could see that I could actually service was the fuse.  But, if the fuse was bad, it wouldn't power on at all, right? I live in D.C. if someone knows of a repair shop here, I'd be all over it.
Thanks, awesome site y'all have got here.

Marteen, can I suggest you start a new posty in the Tech section, there's a lot of M70 fiends here who would be pleased to help out.

marteen - 2012-02-06 08:49

Thank you for the suggestion.  I've just posted in the tech section.

so it is up for grabs then mate????

im sure i could throw a very tempting deal your way

gf9898.searcher - 2012-02-09 13:06

I'll think I will 'duck' this one as there is now one on eBay UK. Anyone know the seller as I might go for this one.

isolator42 - 2012-02-10 03:06

Nah, I was just mucking about with the "everyone has thier price" concept.

If some exceptionally rich & barely sane person offered me a fortune for my M90, I'd sell it. I love it dearly, but the money would go a long way with my family...

... & buy another one, of course

I was just writing the cheque isolator when I found out you were joking

Oh well now I can put some of that money towards this cassette

And BTW Reli if someone offered me 45k for my M90, I'd say no because, either they are insane, using money that belongs to a Columbian Cartel, or just finished printing it in their basement.

If somethings to good to be true...it probably is
