For some reason there seems to be quite a few here in Australia , they don't seem to pull big dollars , i guess because you are buying size and not quality, the vela dynastys' turn up here also.

Big hollow sound, loud but cheap sounding. A nightmare to ship or have shipped because there is a 90% chance it will get smashed in shipping. Nice to look at though

aagree with chris....nice box but way over priced for a peico of plastic that is just far to big....but i liked mine
stereo.mad - 2012-03-03 02:14

Sm just to give you an idea of the size they have 10""woofers....and make a 777 look like a walkman....as i say i liked mine....but the damn sliders kept falling off half the time.....best speakers i have seen in any box....mine was as loud as an m90 but the m90 sounds hifi compaired to one of these...if the amps could have driven the speakers properly...you would probbly be heard over a mile away....but unfortunatley not the case

it was the shire size of the thing that got me wanting one... what would you pay for one reno???
radio.raheem - 2012-03-03 03:03
Been there done that my friend....had nothing but bad luck with mine....but i think £300 is a fair price lee...but then everybody has a different value on what they want....i wouldn't mind another but i found the cogs on the decks were rubbish.....mine broke with in a couple of months...and i traded it on....not sure if it has mp3 imput but you could always use an fm transmitter

It's like wanting a chick with a bigger/biggest set of knockers with silicone implants. They are big, beautiful, impressive but alot are not all the well made
The problem with alot of the big BLACK plastic boombox's from the 80's is that the type and quality of plastic is not the same as the gray plastic ones. It's a thinner more brittle type of plastic that snaps like glass if it is dropped or takes a hit in shipping and this is also the reason for the poor quality hollow sound and why it vibrates and rattles when you crank up the volume.
I would pay $400.00 MAX for one and only if i could pick it up in person because having this shipped is almost a sure shot that it will get damaged.

chris...i'll trade your missus knockers for my tosh hehe

you hit the nail on the head there son...i find it hard to think of any late 80's black plastic boxes that are as well made or even sound better than the earlier stuff!
