Important Update for i931x boombox owners.

In my quest to make my box portable I have discovered that it eats batteries. This should be no big surprise but I have an update.
It continues to eat the batteries even while in standby. I have 10 Ni-MH 10,000mah batteries (over 100 dollars invested) that lasted 10 hours of continuous playing (loud) when charged. Worked great! I charged them up again and played the stereo for 2 hours then turned off (stand-by with the clock displaying) no ipod charging or anything. I left it for 1 day sitting in stand-by. The next time I went to use it.......Dead as a door-nail. Barely lit the clock. Wouldn't even power on.
I have tested these batteries by charging them and letting them sit for a few days after charge. They hold their power very well (only losing maybe 10% of charge after 2 days).
So if you have a Lasonic i931 box and you want your batteries to last any at all, you need to flip the DC-AC switch to AC to completely remove power from the batteries to the stereos active stand-by circuitry. It will still hold radio presets it just loses EQ settings). Older boxes were OFF when you flipped the switch. This unit is always on (active) even when off.
Keep in mind that its always awake so it can turn on with the remote and/or charge the iphone or ipod. While you wouldn't think this active circuit would pull much power IT DOES!!
Basically this stereo eats batteries even when turned off (stand-by). Either flip the switch on the back to AC, remove your batteries when not in use or you will come back after a few days and notice they are dead.
Just an FYI to help save you money if you don't have rechargeable batteries. Just think of how much longer your last set of Alkaline batteries would have lasted had you known your stereo was munching on them while sitting! I'm taking away my stereos snack!
