@ MR. VU luv your translation enginr
If you care, I just unwrapped an orginal 80s electronics box just yesterday and everything is in perfect condition.
So, a box's lifespan is limited to what's inside multiplied by the time it has been in use....
I'm a happy camper with my box I received on Saturday NiB....

i can only imagine that the life of a boombox depends on how you take care of it.
my units will out live me for sure, ill pass them on.

oooh that poor Hitachi
I agree with Driptip. First, get quality boxes (well built/ engineered) then take care of them. They should outlast their owners

About 20-35 years, then usually capacitors fail as ESR rises, due to they leak, or dry up, and causes corrosion and eat up traces on the PCB. Then resistor drift out of value. Plus transistor change characteristics and go leaky. Then plastic parts dry up and crack, or due to chemicals they used to cure and clean the plastic or metal expands in some cases, and cause plastic to crack.
You can do a full restoration in most cases, but as time go by, parts will get harder to find and more damage is cause by using the boombox without replacing capacitors and ETC, even if box seem to work. All boxes need to be restore for them to last and work within specs, otherwise you will be lucky to get a year out of them, let alone a few days before they fail and you will end up causing more damage.
Yes it doesn't matter how well you take care of your box, or if it was new in the box. It will fail soon without restoration, same goes for most electronics. Reason why I don't get why people pay over the top, for something unrestored, that consider vintage?
