Has anyone noticed several GE Blockbusters have shown up on EBay?

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html...t=See-All-Categories

That one with the LED upgrade is kinda neat.  What do you think?

Convenient timing.....People read what we post here (and on Boomboxery), and if they see people talking favorably about a box, they use the opportunity to put theirs on Ebay.

And then another Blockbuster owner sees that Blockbuster on Ebay, and decides to get a piece of the action, so he puts HIS on Ebay, when in reality he should have waited a few months so that it's more rare.

OR it's the same Blockbuster being put back on Ebay multiple times, because it has a flaw that nobody is willing to divulge.

Everything is not convenient timing or a conspiracy. The GE Blockbuster has always been popular and most people including sellers on ebay already know that. I watch every auction that has a "grail",interesting or unusual rare boombox as do many other sellers so sellers already know without coming on s2g ect what sells lol! It doesn't take a crystal ball
This one in Ontario Canada is being sold by stynger007 he's been selling boomboxs for alot longer than you have been a member here Reli

even Chris_69 has Joined: November 9, 2010,

but he knows the boombox market scene,

and it looks exactly like he was on this site long time before november of 2010...

You don't have to be a member on here to know the boombox market scene. I've been collecting since before s2g ever existed and i love it  I also belong to many other groups such as photography, advertising, coleman groups ect ect...

yeah, I understand  - you love to collect boomboxes, but didn't join this group till 2010,  even this board existed since 2003, instead you were a member of the others, such as photography, etc ..LOL

chris69 - 2012-03-19 04:08

Actually i didn't join most of the others until recently either. I stumbled across a really decent photography when i bought my Fuji HS10 and Nikon P100. I was researching them to see how good they were and they are both amazing full HD cameras

By the way, ebay membership is not enough, to really know, what boombox market scene is, you need to know what boombox people want and think, so you need to visit the forum, as most of the hidden sellers do.

So you had to be a member on here, to get this knowledge.

chris69 - 2012-03-19 04:35

Wrong metad. Any seller worth his salt only need to keep track of completed auctions to see what items usually sell for. I think you put too much sugar in your coffee this morning judging by all you conspiracy theories lol!!
Do you honestly think sellers who sell hundreds of different items join a website for each and every item just to see if they are valuable. Gimme a break man

chris69 - 2012-03-19 04:46

I've been around long enough to know who a lot of the members are on Ebay.    I've seen several members post threads about how awesome a box is, and then 2-3 weeks later you see them post it on Ebay.

And there have been a couple people I've spoken to over PM, making an offer for one of their boxes, and then they suddenly decide to stop replying to me, and post it on Ebay instead, now that they know what the bottom price is.

And then there's all the boxes I've received, which had a small technical flaw, like maybe it sounds OK on stereo, but once you select Wide, one of the channels goes out........... Or maybe the highs are muddled and weak because it needs re-capping or  some other work........Or maybe the surrounds are torn.........So they slap it on Ebay without telling anyone about those flaws......I have seen this several times, where someone who is selling a box had purchased it only 3 weeks earlier, according to their Feedback......So why do you think they are selling it so quickly?  Most likely because they are disappointed by the technical flaw, so they want to pass it off to someone else without telling them.

Most people do not post their auctions randomly.  They choose when to do it, to maximize the $$ they'll get.   It's not a "conspiracy", it's just common sense.

chris69 - 2012-03-19 09:51

Do you actually expect electronics that are 30+ years old not to have technical flaws..??? Where and when did you become this genious that everyone needs advice from before they sell their boombox...hmmm?
Are you  expect brand new mint in box stereo's when you buy because if so,Walmart is the place for you lol

When did I ever demand that other people get advice from me before selling their box?  LMAO.....

Yeah they are 30+ years old, no shit......But it isn't too difficult to write "The Stereo Wide setting has problems" or "The right channel is louder than the left" or "I can't hear anything from the left tweeter"

If you're honest at least

chris69 - 2012-03-19 10:01

Like i said... go shop at Walmart
If you have any further problems with me please do it through PM instead of all these useless attention seeking comments.

So this thread is about you all of a sudden?  Why, do you have a GE Blockbuster on Ebay?   I haven't checked, because I'm not interested in that box.
