Suddenly, Crown 980's appear like flies on Ebay

So, in the last 2 weeks, there have been 2 Crown 980's sold on Ebay DE, and they were the only ones sold in a very long time, to my knowledge.

Both sold for about 400 euros 
So now, two others have appeared, only one week later:

I just think it's kind of funny, how sellers are so quick to list one, after seeing someone else fetch a good price. It is like they think "OMG, I better post mine really quick, to get a piece of that action"

ive noticed similar listings on ebay uk,..im talking about the stuff you dont see all the time.
its like they come in twos and threes,certain units.

same on items in general nothing for ages then one comes along and bang two or three or more pop up .

The 980 has FM preset buttons though, which is cool. And the knobs also have center detents, unlike the 850. And to my ears, it seems to have a tad more deep bass.

Takes 9 D's, the same as the 850. But it weighs 7.1kg instead of 6.5kg.
I haven't taken it apart yet to see if it's the same amp & speakers.
Also, Crowns aren't as high quality as JVC or Panny, so their sound quality might differ widely among examples.....So it's tough to say anything definitive......

Nah I have both the 980 and 850, and the tape deck appears the same.......Mechanical keys on both.....But the heads are different

LOL, more 980's keep appearing.......I check Ebay Germany every week, and there were NONE for the last several months, but now all of a sudden there have been 6 or 7 of them in the last 4 weeks........Proof that people watch Ebay and decide when to sell theirs........

What are people thinking? 800 euros for this? I hope the buyer has a retirement account and other important assets.
