need some advice: boombox

Hello,
First time poster. Need some recommendations for a portable boombox (or equivalent). My requirements: I am running a kids event and teams will gather on a busy street corner and have to dance to some music - I need a boombox that will be loud enough to be heard over vehicle traffic (so fairly loud). It needs to be portable (not too bulky to move) and I don't have access to an outlet, so a rechargeable battery of some kind (my preference is not the D batteries route but rather 1 battery that I can recharge easily). It needs to play MP3s on CD's (USB drive or Iphone also works). A remote for the unit would be a nice feature as well.
Looking for a good solution that is cost effective (under $200??). Help please!

On your price range, you need the Altec Lansing boombox.

Do you have access to any kind of 12V rechargeable power supply such as a car jump start box, or a motorcycle, or lawn mower battery? If D cells are out of the question, that's what you'll need for power.
The Lasonic i931 is inexpensive enough (well under your $200 limit) and it has a 12V input on the back.
As much as I hate to send anybody to one, Wal-Mart has a 12V jump start box available for about $36 if you don't have another supply.
Good rechargeable D cells (preferably Tenergy stay away from Energiser) and chargers can be had, and I highly recommend using them, but unfortunately they will put you over $200 with the box.
