Ahoy everybody!  I have not been on this site in a looong time, havent really had time to do anything boombox wise and havent bought anything new, but anyway im going to get back into it.

My question is this, I have a Sanyo M9990 that is pretty much absolutly dead, I love the box and cosmetic wise it looks really good and I will never part with it.  Has anyone every put the innards of a new box into the shell of an old box?  I dont know a great deal about electronics but is it easy enough or am I just dreaming?

Sadly alot of newer boxes sound like poo bar a few exceptions, I suppose what you could do is keep sound side of the internals and wire in some form of MP3 unit, unfortunately like you Im not that clued up on electronics.

If you change your mind and just want to break it for parts let me know as Ive got a M9990L missing a few bits.

Definitely a classic and could be even more functional today with a 7" android tablet.  I actually have a Samsung Galaxy 7 collecting dust and might even take a crack at it.

I have a Pioneer project under work. I will gut it and use a MP3/FM amp (2x20W RMS) and a 9Ah li-ion battery. The speakers will be two way coaxial ones i had laying around. I will try to use the original buttons and knobs for operating, we will see how that works out...

Hardmen, that is exactly what i am going to do with my Pioneer! I have a similar Chinese amp waiting. Could you please show or explain the wiring? Did you extend the USB and SD slot? How did you do the knobs? I need ideas and you just executed them for me!

Not much work on it, I disassemble the amp, dissoldering the pots and switches, soldering colored wires in place of pots and switches, mount all in the C100-F chassis and done!!!

I don´t have any experience with electronic things, but it´s not "too hard" do make the mod...

I have to put some inside pictures, but dissasemble the Conion makes me lazy...  ...please, be patience...
