Hi all - My 1st post.
Have become proud owner of a Crown CSC 850 - a lovely looking machine and great sound.
However - The tape deck, which worked beautifully for a week or two, no creates a horrendous feedback type noise, as if a motor noise was being amplified many times...
The mechanism works, tapes fast forward and play etc... But the boomy, feedback sound obscures all...
Any ideas or thoughts? I'd love to get it working, and am fairly competent with diy if well instructed - but looking for a diagnosis first!
Thanks in anticipation.
that could well be the record switch on the main board , look at the back of the deck you will see a lever when you press the record button you will see it move , you cant miss the switch its narrow and long give it sguirt or two of switch cleaner chances are it will be okay. when you squirt the switch work it quite a bit to help .
