hi guys! just arrived from ebay for the princely sum of £4.88 a tiny ferguson 3T17 from around 1980/81
this thing is near mint having lived in an old people's retirement home for many years - even the aerial is complete & undamaged!!
will of course report back later when i have found a mains lead & fired it up - i had one of these in 1982 & have been looking for a good one ever since i sold it! don't think they come in much better condition than this am very pleased with it & if anything needs doing to it, well i used to own a shop that repaired such items so it will be easy for me if it needs anything.....i'd guess the belts will need replacing the pinch roller looks fine in fact the cassette mech looks like it's hardly ever been used
incidentally, it's built like a tank solid pressed steel tape mech solid buttons all still in line & the obligatory line of flashing led's which many of us seem to still really like!
no marks or dents not even been cleaned up yet this is how it arrived this morning.....
always loved these little compact radio cassettes sanyo made some nice ones & i seem to remmember someone on here bought a currys branded triumph mini stereo a cpl of years back they were nice too!

that's a sweet looking little box you scored there congrats.
looks to be in near mint condition which is always a bonus the fact that you had one all those years ago and then this comes along for next to nothing is fantastic
by the way it was me that had the triumph, it now resides at my ex,s house, another sweet little box. anyway congrats that's a great score

yes i totally agree, the early 80's boxes had it all.
that triumph was actually my second one, it sounds very good for a small unit and the led's are a lovely bright red.
probably the brightest iv'e ever seen, it has quiet a good few whistles and bells too for a small unit

fergusons were based largely on jvcs- 3t13/rc656 as one example,so no doubt its built like a little brick poo housegreat little find!

it is really solidly built all it needed was some servisol squirted into vol balance & tone controls & a new belt as well as slight azimuth adjustment & it's like new again - the speakers look well above average quality when i opened it up i was surprised
