dug this philips 8414 box for test and works fully including line in was impressed with the sound so tomorrow night ill strip it and clean it.

SDC12484

Ok took apart one of my 777s as issue with volume/speaker balance and found two melted resistors unsure if repairable or not as i may need to find a breaker box .

Need to clear all my small boxes out as my ever expanding collection of sharps is only getting bigger.

Never usually post my projects as ive got 10 ongoing currently.

Too many projects on the go at same time i should leave it to one at a time! Noticed that vz we were both eyeing up has gone off ebay as i got an ebay mg saying your bid has been cancelled item no longer available

That's a bugger on the vz mate, thought that could go cheap for you

You need to do your projects one at a time and post what you're doing...i for one love to see what people are doing and have learnt loads from others refurb threads

It not melted, that just glue and that not a resistor. It's a "zenor diode", the glue on it that turns brown and becomes conductive overtime.

I've got a full pictorial guide to dismantling the vz!! Found it on either s2g or boomboxery and printed it out at work. If you search the forums you'll find it. Alternatively pm me your email address and I'll send it to you
