Maurice your 8 track recorder BBX is wow really a rarity and very COOL !!
AO that is one LONG LOONGG BOX my friend,, yep never done saw one of them ...
Skippy the Pioneer is just a piece of BBX ART ! Totally classic lines , really clean looking and the chrome is a sure set off! Lucky man and for sure a rarity.
Teamstress SCR-1 never seen one. Have you tried looking it up to find what year catalog it was in , cost etc. Fun thing with RS items here is site you can look up EVERY year catalog and look at each page and Zoom in on any one item. Really great site stroll down memory lane. Gosh I bought from them as a younger teen ....

I have this rare Radio Shack Radio only thin mini with detachable FM Walkman radio. Might not qualify as BBX as no cassette but AUX IN. Interesting thing is it takes FOUR C batteries and 3 AAA batteries in Radio. It has Bass and Treble boost and for a RS box and tiny mini has AUX IN a great feature. Sound is pretty good even especially for size. 13 inches long

NOTE : Retropcdos BBX is a RECORDING 8 track box . Claret all the ones you showed are just players. I would still think Maurice's box is unique and rare. Is there another member with one ?
ao - 2012-12-02 22:53
Wasn't this the box that nearly tipped respected former member DM4U over the edge

I'll chime in with the rarest 3D that I own: the CX200.
Similar to a 3D52, but with one tape deck swapped for a CD, & unusually for the 3Ds, bass & treble controls rather than an EQ:
My 5 year old son has it in his bedroom, listening to Now 82...
There are one or perhaps two rarer 3Ds out there, but I don't own them... yet
lav.loo - 2012-12-03 06:49
thanks for posting your gems up guys, iv'e never seen any of the above in the flesh before so it's nice to see them if even only in pics, cheers guys

This is rare to me; Sears 20641
Needs a 'play' belt.
This kinda looks like that Trident 473F boombox and has the Feature set of a Lasonic LPC-85
retro.addict - 2012-12-03 11:09
My rarest is the Tatung TSC 5101.

ok, I've got a rare boomer in this genre: the Bush 7070:
...to be fair, it's rarity must surely be in part due to it's poor sound & bargain basement brand. It does have flashing VU/leds & a loudness switch, however...
Only ever seen one for sale since 2004, & I bought it. Sentimental value - it was my brother's first stereo boomer (before I could afford anything) & went everywhere with us.
lav.loo - 2012-12-03 11:36
really like the look of all these 3 piecers, they look unusual and of good quality, thanks for posting guys

boomer70 - 2012-12-03 11:59
maybe we've all heard enough about m90's for a while lol so let's see your rare beauty's here's mine the daewoo rcs902w, rare as hens teeth in the uk and minty too.
come on show us your rarest beaut......
isolator42 - 2012-12-03 11:59
I'm on a roll now.
How about this never mind the quality, feel the width offering from basement quality brand, Saisho & the T909:
to be fair it doesn't sound half bad, it's bloody loud & the feature count is pretty impressive: Dolby, 5 band EQ, stereo wide, real tweeters, tuning meter, etc.
Again, rare due to the undesirability of the brand, & those graphics, surely?
Again, only ever seen the one for sale & bought it. It was dead & I somehow bought it back to life.
Why? it was my brother's second boomer & I used it's 2 decks when I started DJing, because they worked independently through the same line-out... Happy days

That rare silver JVC RC-550LM is right up there
mark.gf575 - 2012-12-03 12:30
I guess the Philips D8814 I've recently won (but not in my sweaty palms yet) is my rarest box, although I own a JVC 9475LSB as well circa 1974
lav.loo - 2012-12-03 13:18
the saisho is quiet a nice looking box Iso and it's a new one on me
and that 8814 Mark.....love it

I belive the Toshiba BomBeat 40 would be the rarest and most desirable of all. Compared to a BomBeat 40 even the top most desirable boombox's are very common.
