Who all on here is bidding on the (only) M90 on ebay usa right now? I was eying it up last night, but as of this morning the bids are already spiraling out of control, at close to $600 with 6 days left.

For those who already own one: did you pay these kinds of prices for an M90, or did you happen upon one "in the wild"?

naah seriously after seeing one in the flesh i was'nt over excited tbh, i just think they lack appeal on the look front, especially with the dark grey colour.

i may sound crazy to a lot of people but i would never lust after an m90 no matter what the rep, there's way too many nicer boxes that kick it's ass in looks that id'e rather have.

but....that's just my humble opinion

I know a few folks have gotten them for cheap. I remember one going for about $200 on Ebay probably....... 10 years ago. I paid $400 for mine, and spent about $150 getting the deck refurbished.

I paid a lot for my 90's as well . Worth every cent though.

High quality gear. Unlike Philips with breaking gears constantly.

Everybody wants a 90 and if you want one you have to cough up the $$$$$

i live in Toronto Canada and it seem's that here in ontario (my home province ) the m90 and m70 b box's come up for sale regularly, on a site call kijiji. i paid 600$ can. for mine and it work well, the tape deck needs to be fixed, yet i bypass it with a studio quality cassette deck through the inputs in the back of the m90. just recently i had to turn down buying a m70c because i didnt have the money. it is selling for $250 can in good shape

there's using them and there's abusing them, i should of said abuse not use

im not kidding anyone lee i have always had a love hate thing about the m90 they are ugly...they look like something gray out of doctor who's bottom......£250 is all there worth imho...that's how much everybody used to pay

Edit and lav ain't kidding ether as i offered him one for £250 a few years back...and he turned it down....skippy1969 owns that one now as i gave it to him

very true Reno, i wisely chose your mx920 instead, which i think is a much nicer looking box than the m90. if i was offered an m90 at a fair price, let's say £200 for a nice example, then i would snatch it but only for the sound and it's reputation, defo not for it's look.

iv'e said this before but here goes il'e say it again, i think jvc made the ugliest looking 1 piece boxes ever, but they are very well made and quality is second to none.

if i had to choose a 1 piecer from jvc it would be the m70, i think it looks a bit nicer than the m90, but not much.

i'm not knocking anyone who loves the m90 here btw, i'm just stating that their not for me. ya can all hit back at me on the 8614 if ya like

i know the feeling JE, the most iv'e ever paid on a box is £150, i have had some great scores but sadly that was a few years ago now.

not many people seem to find anything in the wild these days as boxes have become too mainstream and sadly your ordinary folk know the value now iv'e given up collecting now as i can't find anything in the wild and i can't afford epay prices.

still i have 2 great boxes one of which may be the only one in  the uk so i'm happy enough

John i wouldn't worry my friend none of them are worth that kind of money....im glad mine are gone....the only boxes i will miss are my gf1000 and my crown 970....no way are m90's worth this kind of money...they don't have good enough bass for one thing...

Sorry for swearing lav but it was a fantastic fooking day meeting you and andy...have you been down twice lad??? i can't remember but i think you have....if you come here now its full of amps and proper hifi gear plus some boomboxes like 2 shite uniceff and 2 gf9000...i never use them they just sound rubbish.....to be honest im using the kaboom at the moment and it sounds rubbish compaired to some of my new hifi gear....although im enjoying using it....you should see my new technics floorstanders i have just bought beutiful mate

yeah i came down twice mate and it was a blast, hi fi seperates are cool thing to get into aswell as boxes. there's some nice early 80's akai seperates in a junk shop down the road from me they've been sat their ages. nice vu needle meters on the amp, think the guys only asking 15 quid, don't know why i have'nt snatched em yet

personally i love the unisefs lol, nice show piece but that's about all, was wanting a nice black box for the daewoo

wouldn't be interested in the dawoo lav...you know me....you will have to take some shots of this hifi gear lad....but i would need to see it first and the uniceff would be pick up only...im flat out broke because i owe a massive bill to bt and im in the middle of buying these technics speakers...but if your interested in coming over with the right gear...we may be able to sort something out lad

that's a new one on me, i have a flutter now and again and it was still a quid a few week back when i had a go don't gamble as a rule though it's a mugs game would rather spend any spare cash on my kids, life is tough at the mo and it's only gonna get worse.

Totally agree lav....m90's and the like are a mugs game...when there are much more important things than which mug can spend the most on what.....never been too keen on the big ben but id rather docs beuty than any m90 lad

oh yeah give me a big ben any day, now that is money well spent when all said and done it's nobody's game to criticize who spends what on what, if you like something and have the funds then why not? i just can't justify the m90's popularity personally.

Good speakers can cost several thousands, for decent speakers 1k and up for a pair, unless you get lucky, but also depends on size of room. Plus you can spend another few 100's to get the room acoustic treated, so sound waves just down bounce around or out.
