who has a d.a.b radio?

lav.loo - 2013-01-12 12:52

just been listening to lincs fm on my kitchen radio (3d30) lol lincs fm being the only half decent station here in lincolnshire.

anyway most of the music was new crap and i got to thinking if i had a d.a.b radio would i be able to pick up stations from manchester?

i said manchester because that's where i'm from and i miss the variety of stations from there.

does anybody else have one and is it a good idea to think about getting one?

obviously i love analogue and would like to keep it that way but i really would like to pick up my old radio stations which i'm about 140 mile away from.

any advice would be great here

Got a couple of em. Wife's got one of those retro Roberts ones in the kitchen and I've got a nice Sony in the bedroom. Had other cheaper ones (these were £150+ each) but they picked up nowt. These two pick up loads of stations from all over the uk and sound good

I've not found the need for one, yet.

Freeview receivers pick up all the radio stations since the proper digital roll-out, & there are 4 of them dotted around the house, including one I can feed into my FM transmitter if needs be.

Interestingly the latest Kaboom has a DAB tuner (as well as Bluetooth), which makes me want one

I have a Pure Sensia in the bathroom on which I stream 'Alaska Hit Radio'(!) - because I can, I suppose and I have DAB in the car and the van and would not be without 'Absolute 80's' when I am out and about. One of my mates got a Roberts one for Xmas and it was in his kitchen on New Years Eve making very big, pleasant sounds from an insanely small box. It also streams internet radio and has a USB socket; all for about £130. Incredible bargain.

I don't want to pick a fight with you heretics and luddites but is the forum not called 'Stereo 2 Go'? It may be stuff from the future, but it's good and it's portable. Get over it!

yeah andy hate them too - horrid things with poor audio to boot, analogue fm is still way better & it seems most other people prefer it too from what i've read elsewhere on the net
