What does the OSC switch do?

the osc switch is in place so if crap music is played on the tape deck it fries the amp brutus    

It is the Beat Cut switch, but never used it.

Of all the makers I think Aiwa were the most consistently brilliant. JVC, Sanyo and Sharp for sure had many greats and some real howlers but Aiwa delivered every time and at every price point. Love 'em.
