Hey folks, i am new here & having fun cranking up my Aiwa Stereo 600 with DSL.

Incoming is a late 70's sharp "the searcher" GF-9090 Looks to be in great shape. This one, I wanted bad, so grabbed off of epay (fingers crossed) I am very excited, and if everything works out I will be cranking that one up tomorrow evening.

been playing my amstrad box with slot out walkman,my daughter came round the other day and brought my grand kids to see me,she played silento - watch me,bloody annoying but strangley addictive..

And them kids doing the dance are brilliant,and i bleedin love america..oh and had to spot the speakers in the back of that childs jeep :-)

Typical crappy British summer! I'm working from home today and it's absolutely pouring with rain! Apparently we're going to get 1 months worth in two days!

Anyway using one of my C52's, the ultimate kitchen radio. This one is the National version.

Oh I like the look of that, nice soft touch controls etc.

I decided to get my sharp GF6060 out of the cupboard, as hadn't listened to it in over a year! This was another of my finds on freecycle, and it still works! I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised, when I plugged it in and switched it on! It's got quite a good sound; I had forgotten how good it was!

Hopefully I get the sounds out of my new find today? It is a Sharp GF 990.

It is in good condition but dead at the moment but I will pull it apart and see what is faulty?

It worked on radio using mains power��

The DC cord and battery not working might have been because of oxidised switch on power cord plug.

Both decks are chewing tape and no Forward or Rewind. Opened up one and looks like motor pulley has chewed one belt as there was black gunk between the pulley and circuit board. The belt has dissappeared completely and transformed into a black gunk!

Now I need new belts but I have no idea how long the belt is originally?

Packing for my holidays and got my Jeagam 8000 playing in the background. It's a little battered and worn but produces a lovely all  around sound.  I'm quite attached to this one.

Last weekend the Sharp 8989 - after a very scratchy volume control start sounded and worked great - used it to monitor our outside broadcast as an 'off air' receiver. It got a few admiring looks too from the public.
