seen some like these on ebay recently and wanted to know what other members thought of them! I think its a fun novelty idea but It made me think about how cool a homemade box could be! I've seen some very clever people on here do a lot of complicated mods to their boxes and was wondering if anyone has built a box from boombox parts ( bit like Frankenstein's monster) or car audio gear perhaps? If so I would love to see pics of them!!

The 3 speaker my friend....i have heard 2 many bad reviews about the other

the mookboxes are by a friend of mine , I had no idea that people would pay that much for them , but to be fair I have no idea what's inside the box amp and battery wise . I also build boxes but do it in wood and don't charge anything like that for it.

it seems that the old skool suitcase boomboxes made by boomcase a american maker are really highly priced.

this is the one that I've built myself this year , payed for some bits and salvaged upcycled others, I reckon about £60 for this box .

what do you reckon ?

Nice work! thought this would be a lot more complicated but after buying a ta2020 amp (similar to yours) and power supply I've decided to build one myself! late 70s early 80s oldskool boombox style though, the briefcase is a fun idea but not really my cup of tea

I ask as I used to fit them out, the traditional all-steel kind.  I could recognise that roof angle anywhere.

What amp did you use ? I'm trying to get a simular sound into my boombox but i'm using a ta2024, which does not have the option for a third speaker...
