Oh it's close... 9 out of 10. I was shocked when looking it over. I haven't opened her up yet, but peeking inside through the gaps in the cassette well, I couldn't see any dust. Only dust i seen was on top of the vents in the back.

Oh yes it is northerner! Other boxes I was eyeballing aren't as appealing as they were . I'm sure the novelty will wear off and i'll go back to being broke soon

It's a Sanyo M9975 - I have one, and just the box to go with it

Has line-in/out Only for recording purpose's though, as

there is NO Selector Switch to use this as a amplifier for

a outside source

Very nice sounding middle sized boombox

isolator42 - 2013-05-10 05:06

Always lovely to see someone reunited with a childhood friend...

Congrats, those photos would be great for the packing protocol thread.

The Sanyo looks like new!.

If it has a remote socket next to the external Mic input sockets, then the set can be used for Line-in.

Just insert a plug into the remote socket (The pin is roughly half the size of a normal 3.5mm pin) and the motor power will be cut-off and will not spin. Then keep Pause and Rec +  Play to use it in recording mode (without the motor running!) for line-in.

Always great when someone delivers what they say they will, mint box you've got there!

Thanks guys, and thanks AE for the tip! I knew there was a trick to it, just haven't figured it out yet. When I bought my M9990, the previous owner was telling me he had it hooked up to his iPhone. I figured it would probably be the same for this M9975.

Addendum to the tip: You need to engage the record-protection tab in the deck. Either put a cassette with leader tape visible or use a piece of masking tape to keep it pressed.

The Sanyo has a distant similarity to Pioneer SK-21!

OR using 'No Cassette' - Open the cassette door well, and stick your finger into where the feeler is for the record tab and While  pushing it down with your finger, put the deck into record mode and then remove your finger and close the cassette door ( Just don't press the stop key ) and you will be in the mode to play through this with your source

I agree SITMAN. Nothing like a bit of nostalgic audio to brighten the day. Congrats on the grail!

Thanks Brutus. Been a week and I'm still stoked! Now I have to find out why the right channel plays really low on tapes. It's fine when the radio is on. Hopefully just a dirty switch. The head looks mint.

yes that's the problem, nobody think's of getting back what they once had, till they see another doing so

Wish there were more people's out there finding out; that, YES they can get back what they once had
