Just found a Pioneer Sk550 for 30 at a swap meet, the door won't open So I can't tell if it works. Is It worth the risk ?
In a word, YES. Go for it. Probably, just needs new belts. If it`s stuck in play, with the heads raised, the door won`t open. Good luck.

No it's not stuck on play. But the buttons gets stuck in rewind, though it does rewind. Funny thing is that as soon as I disconnect the box, the rewind button comes back out. Hmm. It's a pretty loud box

Wow, disregard the fact that i said it wasn't stuck. I just hit play and now the play wont stop at all. Not even with pressing stop or eject. Damn. Any suggestions? I am taking it in tomorrow morning to a spot where I have had other work done on some electronics. I am also taking my Sanyo M9830K to change the belts.

It is also a SK 550 not 559
