Does anybody here know what that gorgeous red ghetto blaster on the music video by The Clash for their song "Rock the Casbah" is?
It's a beautiful boombox; predominantly red with black and chrome trim. And I believe it was in a scene with Arab shieks near an outdoor swimming pool in full daylight.
I last saw this video on MTV in the very early-1980s, so I cannot be more specific in describing the ghetto blaster.
Anybody?
My first guess is a Sanyo of some sort but I'm trying to find a cleaner video to watch.
I was thinking that it may have been a Sanyo as well; though in my mind there was a small but not insignificant chance that it may have been a Sony.
It's definitely a Sharp. The layout of the cassette keys on top and the curved top microphones are a dead giveaway. Perhaps it's a painted GF-9191?
Well, looks like DecentMan4you beat me to the punch here...I had the same image from the same YourTube video to post here:

How bizzare it was on a top 100 british anthem countdown here last saturday night and I was going to ask the same question.
If it can be determined that the box in the video has LED VUs, it's probably the Sharp GF-9292:
I've always loved that song (and video) and wanted to know what that box was for years. Thanks, fellas!
I love this cute 9292...
