Absoloute classic James Spader film which has ALL the necessary ingredients for a must-see movie. It's no groundbreaker, but it gets everything right; including copious boombox service!
A great little vignette in the school-montage has a dude dancing to a little transistor radio, followed by:
A great little Toshiba, to then be trumped by:
The punchline: a VZ 3000 being pulled in a little red wagon. Awesome.
Another ghetto, held in a classic manner:
I must add all of the above occur within about 45 seconds. Amazing.
Movie continues with a lovely close up reappearance of the Toshiba in the locker room scene.
Also, a nice little mini is Spader's own radio which makes an appearance in many scenes:
This is a must-see movie for those that haven't yet. Excellent soundtrack, Robert Downey Jr and Jim Carroll Band performing 3 songs.
As a sidenote, fans of the classic Capcom beat-em up Final Fight will find this movie even more rewarding as it appears to be the original inspiration for many, many elements in the game.
Rock On.
I love this movie, I remember the bbx's being in it. This was James Spaders best movie and I love the long blond hair girl ( she was H.O.T.). She did the disney movie also Escape to which mountain 1 and 2.
