It would be interesting to poll the listeners of that station to see if they even know what a boombox is. Only us old farts do

Many of the DJ's on that station are from the old school era, so they would know, not sure about the younger listeners although images of boomboxes are used all throughout NYC hip hop culture. I have a friend that used to spin on the competing station (Hot 97) that owned a Conion C100F and a sharp GF-767 when we were younger.
