hey guys
you know the sort i mean- kind of road testing boomboxes like you get road tests of cars- ive got a stack of old 80's car magazines.
i presume a lot of this stuff would have been done directly in japanese mags, as the great deal of boxes were made in japan. were there ever features done on this kind of thing? anyone have any ideas?
cheers

sorry guys, only just remembered this thread, yes i like to see pics of older 80s cars, and even earlier cars,i like to see them modified or restored..just love them,,my brother moved from his old house not long ago,and his son left about 50-60 car mags in the house,i was gutted..
offers still there getto, you want any mags, let me know. or that one i mentioned.
What HiFi used to occasionally do a "supertest" of portables.
Never saw a dedicated boomer mag though. A bit strange, considering the enormous range available back then...
Gettoman, I have some old Ford adverts from 1986, for the Mk4 Escort, Escort Cabriolet, Orion and Sierras. I will scan them for you if you're interested.
yeah i love cars from the 80s mostly fords myself....
I had an 85 Ford Sierra, but was called the Merkur XR4Ti in the states. (XR=Mercury Division,4=cylinders,T=turbo,i=fuel injected)
Quite a fun car, silver w/ dark grey aero cladding, all grey leather--very 80's. One of my favorite things was it had space for a six-pack of "C-Boxes". Is that the correct name? Holds your cassettes untill you need one, push a button and a tray with the tape slides out. It was right in the center under the radio. Had a little joy-stick to control the 4-way ballance of the stereo.
merkur also did the scorpio- a nice all round motor, same as the ford granada scorpio, but of course being from uk i only experienced the ford version.and that was a gorgeous car.i remember sitting in a crashed one as a kid, and thinking ill have one of these one day......i never have

All the older cars are getting more and more rare,i bet even more now than ever since the goverment has started the scrappage scheme, also, people that drive illegally e.g no insurance ect, they usually drive these old cars so when they get pulled over there car gets towed and crushed..its a shame..they need saving and restoring or there will be none left,i love america, you guys know how to restore cars..i love the work that goes into these things..i'de love a nice old camero,i frikkin love these cars..
camaro?now your talkin my language, gm-for me either an 80s iroc or late 70s z28.or a dodge charger dressed as the general lee or a gran torino dressed as starskys zebra 3.or a whole host of others.
