Anyone have one?

I have a service manual for the 838JWII, but i never scanned it. Is there something in particular you need to know? I could scan that section. Let me know.

Any one know the difference between the 838JC I and II?

Well I heard that this box was difficult to take apart and reach the front controls, so anything that shows the disassembly process would be good. I need to deoxidize the front switches, and find out why the bass/treble sliders do absolutely nothing.

its easy to take apart since the guts ome out in one assembly ,just its hard to line up the sliders and switches in the holes when re assembling it .

yeah it is. the M90 and M70 are easy compared to the 838. what up Floyd where ya been man

Anyone know a good source for downloading software for a Umax Astra 1220p?

yep, its a umax scanner. I've been trying to download the software, but nothing yet. I searched the same sites as sin listed and most have a bunch of ads that you got to weed through just to get to a download that doesnt work.

I have the same JVC 838JW and founded your pics very usefull.
I bealive there is a problem with my power suply, do you have the schematic diagrams for that?
If you could post them they woul be incredible usefull.

Did you ever fix the non-responsive tonal controls on that 838? I fixed mine a couple months ago and just wanted to compare and see if the causes were the same. I have my suspicions that there are a LOT of these out there with the same problems...
