Im trying to find a replacement for both the speakers, ive looked all over the internet but i cant seem to find any that match the ones inside , either the mounting holes are wrong or the speaker is way to large but has the right mounting. Im hopeing someone here might know what size and type to replcace them with.

Sizing speakers is not like sizing shoes or jackets. There is no size 8-1/2 or 40L such as like with shoes and garment that is pretty standardized to ensure a fit. You just need to remove your speakers, measure the installed depth and speaker magnet diameter. Then try to match those 2 so they are no larger. Also, the diameter is 6.5" If the mounting holes are not right, you can usually drill new ones into the flange.

thanks, i measured the speakers already but was having trouble finding a match to them online and its just hard to find the exact dimensions on the speakers to check if they fit but im thinking 6.5" car speakers might do the trick. I was thinking about maybe something like these http://www.parts-express.com/p...?Partnumber=267-7164 they are 4 ohm and the current ones are 2.5 but if i remember right its ok to use higher impedence just not lower.

The M9994 installed height is extremely important because the circuit board packs up right to and contacts the chassis frame. If the new speakers are deeper, by even 1/4", it probably won't fit. The ones at partsexpress looks like it might be too deep. Most aftermarket speakers measure installed depth from the backside of the flange.
There are shallow car speakers from Pioneer and Kenwood that I'm sure will work. have found this model to be a pefect fit for most 6.5" boombox speakers. They are very shallow and has good sensitivity.

i just went and took a measurement and it looks like i have about 2.5" depth so something more like http://www.parts-express.com/p...m?Partnumber=267-257 would probably work nice

Yes, I believe those will work. In fact, it's probably the same as the ones I suggested except that it's coaxial instead of dual cone. Keep in mind that the Sanyo M9994 has very robust tweeters to begin with. Using the coaxial will outfit your sanyo with 4 tweeters. In my opinion, the sound with just the 2 tweeters is very brassy to begin with. Having 4 tweeters.... well you decide.

Are you still looking for replacements?

No not anymore i ended up buying the ones above and they fit great, I got them local for $15 and just disconnected the tweeter on them to even out the sound. They sound great compared to the originals that were all full of stress tears.
