Why are there so many of these in the UK?  Every week there is one or two on eBay UK.  A nice looking box let down by sound.  Love the scans Retro.

1 - Handle

Wow, frequensy response surprisingly low, only 50-10000 Hz (normal tape),

and 50-12000 with chrome tape, for example: the same class radio - SHARP GF-9191 "does" 40-12000 on Normal tape, and 40-15000 on Chrome, and SHARP GF-9191 has appeared on the market a bit earlier. 

this is an absolutely fantastic box-i had an 8290 in the past and now on as of yesterday an 8190e that i got off mansion (ste)-so thanks very much mate.i agree with people here that its not the bassiest box in existence but mine goes really loud with no distortion and come on lets face it,the look is stunning!great scans though too,retro-keep them coming!!!!

Absolutely mate..I've had plenty of these and although a nice classic looking box,it just does'nt have any bass,you can see the bass speakers dancing nicely but just still no bass,not sure whats causing it,could be lack of space for it to create much bass,i was thinking of doing a speaker change on the last one i had but they are just buried under boards,so i could'nt be bothered,so just flogged it instead..and yes,the handle,i like handles like on the 777,eg small handle,i dont like full length handles ...

The 8800, is the one to grab. Very nice sound.
