Difference between 9191 and 9292?

Hey, i've already asked this over at boomboxery but just wanted to post on here too.
But what is the difference between the sharp 9191 and 9292, looking at them they appear to be the same box, only visual differences being the speaker grills and the 9292 has led VU's, are there and other internal differences?
and apparently the X designates silver- is this true or does the X mean something different

There are no differences besides those you have mentioned above: VU meters and front design - tuner scale, cassette door, woofers and tweeters trim.
"X" stands for the world wide version.
There are no other versions of 9292 except 9292X, unlike 9191,
there are GF-9191 A, E, X, XR, H, HB, they are for different regions and countries,
diffrences only in tuner section (different bands) and voltage selector.
for example "E" version for Britain, it has 240v, and additional mains power switch at the back.
Hope this helps.

thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know
I think I prefer the 9191, and it seems more common

if i'm in the uk does it matter what version I get, do I have to find the 240v version?

Love my 9191 . The version you get depends wether youll be listening to the Radio on the box its self. Mines the 9191x (Im UK based)

Get a GF-305, I have one, it is pimp because its meters & tuning scale are silver, plus it's got true Line In (no stupid phono), plus tape speed & echo sliders

"E" has only 240v, but the others are multivoltage 110,220,240, so they all fit for UK
in case you take Reli's advice, keep in mind that GF-305 is for japanese domestic market, and has only one option - 100v.
and I agree - 305 looks better than 9191

the 305 is exactly what I want- the look of the 9191 but the tape deck door from the 9292, but 100v will not work in the UK I don't think, so the 9191 is the one I will buy I think

FYI Some of members on here were selling parts from GF-9191, so you can buy the whole power supply PCB, and replace it
