i want one of these,if anyone has a knackered one with a clean case,i want one..i have the crown version but it fell,now its got damage,i want a crown or unisef donor case so i can swap the innerds..

If I had to choose I would pick the unisef and not the crown because I like the color scheme more on the unisef version. And I heared people by these only for the look

I remember this & all the other brand versions of it (Crown, Lasonic, etc.), for sale all over Tottenham Court Road in the later 80s.
I was impressed until I heard one & got close enough to get a good look. Cheap electronics & build, hell my Hitachi 3D7 had more oomph (& that's not exactly top of the line). It felt so fragile - all show & no go. Still, it's got an iconic look. i reckon 50% of all big boomers featured on TV & film are one of these...

I have to admit i love the look of these unisef/crown boxes,ive heard they have no guts,but i still would have bid on that one myself if it wasn't christmas...
I also thought £90 delivered was pretty reasonable for the winning bidder

The ultimate 'shelf queen' I reckon, I never feel inspired to give my Crown 5100 a 'work out' like I do the others because I know how decidedly underwhelming the sound will be..
The only action it sees is a duster now and then!
Still, wouldn't ever dream of selling / swapping it as it's pristine and just so cool to look at, in addition to being a box I've always wanted.
