Tape Deck is'nt working,So,for that reason alone,Who ever buys it is going to be in a world of pain when they try to fix that...These have The Most Horrible,over complicated pile of horse crap tape deck i have ever seen...hate hate hate them...

Yes I heard that these were a pain in the butt to try and replace the belts. My deck doesnt work and I never bothered to look at it since this is supposed to be very complicated.

when i first got my 990 the deck didnt work, replaced all the belts without to much trouble and as for that tyre on that wheel thingy i cleaned it with vinyl cleaner and all the other bits it touches, and never had a prob since, did this about 3 years ago and it still works fine today

yep these have a silly horrible deck..wow geoff you fixed yours,and without much trouble,thats a miracle..
i think you have done it quite easy because you did'nt strip the bottom half off the deck where all the timing/take up gear is,it has a take up motor with 2 little belts on it,if you ever come to have to change those,that is a nightmare..i scrapped a mint TpR990 because i lost my temper with it,i was so disgusted with the deck,i just wanted it out of my life..

these things were complicated....mansion ended up getting mine.loved the look of it, but the deck was a real tw@t.
i think its now gone to a mate of his, in exchange for something else.
