http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2602...e=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123Quoted in auction details:
"Recently overhauled by an authorized service center. All controls cleaned and cassette decks lubricated, cleaned and aligned."
I asked the following question:
"Hello,
I was wondering if the receipts are available for the services performed on the unit?
Thanks in advance."
I received this response:
"Sorry no receipts avalable,We are selling this on consignment for a freind.I personaly tested all funtions and as clean as it is,and knowing the owner,I would say it was serviced recently.
Mike"
So it's his opinion that it was recently overhauled by an authorized service center? Cmon, he would have been better off saying he did it himself. I could accept that as an answer. At least when I sell something claiming it has been cleaned, serviced, belts replaced etc.. It has been because I DID IT!! G-damn people. Sorry but this ticks me off. Thought i'd share. If this by some chance is a member here, then sorry, but it still ticks me off.

That sounds like another sleazy seller.
I recently had a beatiful almost perfectly mint and fully functioning TRC-931 with factory plastic protection still on all display surfaces listed on ebay and the bidding only went to $305. That's far below what they sold for last summer in this condition. It didn't bother me not selling it since it's very nice.

I phrased my earlier statement poorly. I was the bidder for that auction. What was the reserve for that box anyways?

My Reserve was $349 and I tried to bump it to $399 on the first day but it already had a bid so I couldn't. In a way I was kind of glad it didn't sell because I really like this particular 931 and the fact that the original protective plastic is still on all of the display surfaces.
They pulled this down due to an error in the shipping. Then relisted it and fixed the shipping but left the tall tales of repair alone. Perhaps someone else (or several) would like to ask the seller about the "overhaul". Might prove a point if they get the same question several times.
