Got this Fisher PH-492 from Sinister a long time ago.
Ive had it fully gone through and totally repaired.
Its been stuffed with performance speaker foam too for better sound. Not sure if it really helped, as these sound amazing anyway.
The cassette on this sounds incredible. High end mechanicals I imagine... All new belts.
Some discoloration on the sides that wouldnt show in the photos, believe me I tried.
Complete, except for the missing aluminum trim on the very top.
I have $325 invested with purchase and restoration.
Open to offers.
Conion Trades?
Shoot me a PM if interested. Will pack to survive.
This is NOT on ebay yet, offering it to the family first.
Thank you for your interest!
Is a real beauty good luck man
Thank you Sir!
What a beautiful Fisher PH492
... Someone should hurry up and buy this. These quality sounding radios should ALL be bought up as soon as they're offered up.
Best of luck Jeff.
beutiful peice of kit jlf
you should have no probs selling her, good luck.
i'd buy it back if i had tha loot!!!
Thanks guys!
I do love it. Its on right now in fact. Sounds amazing...
I got Conion fever again though... And I try to keep my collection to a certain amount on the shelf. If one comes in, one needs to go.
I'll offer you 25 dollars for it as it's a friggin wreck! All that trim missing it looks like a dog I don't know whyyou say it's mint beacause it aint dude.Another case of offloading **** onto us proper collectorsand 'crapping on your own doorstep' which is never a smartmove. Why not put it on ebay as people on there are easier to con.And i know you screwed over rimmer36 with that Marantz/Piperbox too so there's no way I (or any other decent member) wouldtouch your 'deals'. GH.
WHO IS THIS?
I JUST GOT THIS EMAIL TITLED POS492.
I NEVER SOLD RIMMER ANYTHING!
I ALSO NEVER SAID THIS FISHER WAS 'MINT.'
SO CHILL OUT.
BESIDES, WHY HIDE? WHY NOT COME OUT LIKE A MAN AND TELL US ALL WHO YOU ARE?
The situation is being handled.
No problem.
I am open to offers, trades. Just because I have so much in it, doesnt mean I need that amount.
I get a lot of fun out of buying boxes needing repair, getting them fully serviced, and returning them to the wild for others to enjoy.
Especially as so many collectors dont have access to an honest, old school electronics repair guy like I do!
Enjoy life!

Damn. Gotta get ready for home improvements...do you take layaway?
Um... Well?
$225 shipped folks!
WOW Jeff! That's a steal
Hell, I'm tempted to take a 3rd 492 at that price. Folks who've never heard/seen one in person should take our word for it. They won't be dissapointed. Jeff, can I offer you a post dated, second party, out of state check?
Hey Bro... You can offer me anything you want!
Id really rather trade this... Hey, how about this and my 480 for the HUGE box you have?!
Still just $225 shipped folks!
The Wheely? I'd def. do it for you Jeff- if I knew I could find another one. It's just so insanely huge, great converstaion piece too! Brings out so many smiles at the size of it.
Oh, right.
Finding another one. Thats a problem.
Weird thing is I dont even see the Chinese sellers with them?! Must be more rare than I think!
Well... Id deliver to your door the Fishers. No risk of shipping damage!
Gee i should be looking here first rather than in that other place ....
? Where that panel or trim is missing could that yellow glue goo be scraped off in such a way that this would look like or maybe should look, to a not knowing person, that nothing goes there in the first place and or that this is the original look of this item ... as far as looks go ... ???
is this still there for 225? shipped?

DM4U, yes the glue can be scraped off to blend right in. Just been too lazy to get around to it. I actualy have the same kind of brushed aluminum, same gauge here with me. I cut a replacement piece with my dremmel drill. But it's not as clean a cut. I have extra aluminum for Jeff too. It just wont say "Fisher" on it. My sister manages the materials fabrication shop at same Fighter wing base where I drill. They fabricate pieces for all parts of the F15s and have tons of that gauge aluminum. I guess I could just mail some to Jeff for him to cut/match. I have mine cut just need to clean it up more. Exact match. I guess I coulda mentioned that in my 492 sales pitch.

Now that really puts the size of the Wheely in perspective. The 492 is a beast in it's own right but good god the Wheely is dwarfing it.
The RX-5050 looks like a kids toy!
Sweet photo!!!! Its huge!
Thanks for sharing that!
The Fisher is now... SOLD!
Thanks for the interest everyone!
Based upon this picture of thafuzz's showing the comparison size's of this 492 and cosmetics aside I think I ahve just bought one of these 492's Now if I could just get that payment info ...
