That's a nice box but it's kind of sterile looking. Anyone familiar with how they sound?

Whoever designed that obviously only had a straight edge and a pencil to work with!

Typical German design. Clean but purposeful. Looks good to me though. Wonder what HiFiTom knows of this. Or Jens?

This bbox is a ITT Touring Typ ??? (can't remember exactly) - my first bboombox I bought back in 1986 for 549,- DM. At this time the biggest model of ITT. There was the ITT Weekend which looks the same, but didn't have the soft-touch-tape with music-search-system. Graetz just take the ITT models and put their lable on (they also had other colors for the box, the ITT where colored gold!).

Sound quality is not that good - ITT's where always very neutral boxes (like the Philips), not very dynamic sounding. My one started to burn (on a party when a friend of mine wanted to reverse the tape). The model before, the ITT Touring 220 (? - not shure) I also owned (still got one) was a great sounding, but also very ugly box. This bbox had a Hyper-Sonic-button which was very effective! This radio, which was a present for my confirmation in 1979, came with a demo-tape to show this HS-effect - wow! Can remember when I first push the play-buttom (it shows a starting airplain from the left to the right speakers), I was very impressed! That was the reason why I bought this, the next model ...

...unusual to see a b-box where it would look better with the speakers not visible through the grilles. Then it would be a bit B&O.
