About selling radios

beatbox - 2008-04-15 03:11

Hello all again. Not posted so much recently, but I feel I have to mention something.

As some know, I've had a bit of bad luck recently which has left me in massive economical s**thole, and has in turn caused me to sell some of my better boxes knowing they will bring in some cash.

These boxes have not been offered up here first precisely for this reason. Selling on eBay will certainly yield the highest prices, and at the risk of sounding greedy, it's exactly what I need right now and is why I am currently selling.

Some folk on the forum find it funny that members don't immediately offer up their boxes here first.

We have to understand that people do have lives outside of the forum, and though I have helped numerous members here before and would love to give away boxes as gifts, there are events in our lives that dictate a certain route.

Losing my job, splitting up with a girl and having double rent, paying for a funeral plus flying around 3 countries during the aftermath of 2 deaths in the family has left me a little short of pocket to say the least.

So please think before questioning people about their intentions. We are all members here yes, but it does not mean we all have to devote our lives to this forum.

At a time when I need all the friends and support I can get, I really don't want to visit the forum I love and experience any negative reactions to people selling their radios.

All the best.

hey beatbox sorry to here about your bad luck recently, a mans got to do what a mans got to do. i'd do the same if i needed to raise as much cash as i could, good luck with it.

what bbox's are you going to be selling

enskanker - 2008-04-15 04:39

All the best, and no one here should fault you for what we would all do in similar situation.

You should not have to explain yourself. This forum is not a charity nor should it be an inquisition as it sometimes is. We are a group of people who share a similar interest. Anything above and beyond that is pure choice!! We are NOT monks. Good luck with everything!!

Still praying for you BeatBox. Man, I hope things get better. I recall asking in a post if an eBay seller (who is also an S2Ger) with very nice radio wasn't offering it up to a good home within the S2G membership first. I wasn't thinking of anyone specifically. Just curious really. This makes sense too. I'm not sure if it was my question on that thread, or if it was even me. But, just wanted to be safe by stepping forward and stating I meant no harm. Beat, you have my respect and prayers my friend. Geoff,UE and Bash are correct. I agree and would also hope to get the most cash to help my situation. Hope all gets better. Adam Smile

Thanks for your kind words. I didnt want to point any fingers, but I have been contacted about certain radios and even been asked to sell radios to members even after ebay auctions have ended!!

Anyway, to answer somebodys question (I didnt want to use this post as an ad, but hey!) I am currently selling the Sharp GF9494 on eBay.de

Hey Beat! No need to explain dude. Smile Even if you were not in your situation it is your property and thus your perogative as to how you sell and why. I'll tell you this, if I were to ever buy anything from you and you thought my offer was too low and you could do better on the 'Bay, then more power to you. Nod Yes I can't speak for others but my feelings won't be hurt. It's your business how you do business as long as no one is getting cheated. And if some members are watching your auctions go unbid and then try to contact you with a lowball offer knowing your situation (Not everyone replies but posts are "read" alot.) they should be ashamed. No No

Beatbox you've committed no foul and you don't owe us anything so no worries friend. I as well as many here, I'm sure, wish you the best in these troubled times. Take care of yourself and your family first, we are happy to hear from you when you have the time.

I would love for you to give me free boxes too but I don't see anything wrong with maximizing your profit. Smile

Sorry to hear the recent news Beatbox but I for one am with you on this one.

At the end of the day, MONEY TALKS Smile

I am having to sell some of my boxes too recently due to financial struggles. When you have a Wife and 3 Kids and you are the only earner in the house cash is the key, and as it pains me to not be able to offer boomboxes on here first to genuine members but if someone is going to buy one from me off the 'bay for a couple of hundred quid then so be it! If I was in a better situation financially then I would'nt be selling them in the first place! Razz

I remember when I lost my job a year or so back. But I lucked out that I did not have to sell any of my Bboxes... but I HAD thought about it!
