redbenjoe - 2008-04-04 23:45

its from member lopez --and, the way things are for this box --i think it will sell fast-
except he listed in the cassette player category instead of boomboxes - but now he knows that Smile

l.lopez - 2008-04-05 00:58

Smile Thanks for looking RBJ, I'll see what I can do to change that. Smile

redbenjoe - 2008-04-05 06:26

was thinking that the recession finally hit ebay boombox sales during this past month -

so if THIS c1000f - with its original box and manual --does not sell right away -

we will know the market is down --ya think ? Smile

Considering how bloated the pricing is now on the 'Pay, a shift down to more reasonable prices would be refreshing. It's nothing more than hype driving the prices. People see it- got to have it- overpay for it- half or more of the sales include undisclosed issues- buyers remorse ensues- buyer becomes seller, lies about how the radio has no issues- rinse - repeat.

That is how many of these auctions go on Ebay, and it's simply a repeating cycle of getting screwed.

What's worse is we'll have some person here talk about a box that hasn't been seen in a long time/ever on Ebay, then one shows up. Retarded bidding competition syndrome ensues, $100 radio becomes $400 radio, etc.

Epay prices..... I'm so glad I only paid them a few times, and not at all in the past 3-4 years.

I tend to agree with Ira - seems like recession has finally hit the boombox collectors. I have no problem with prices going south - I would only benefit that.
By the way - do yall remember how we were making fun of chinese sellers trying to sell that Conion for $3K?? And now we have $1200 with box and manual - and nobody seems too excited - interesting....

redbenjoe - 2008-04-05 21:59

i agree with ira also Smile

in fact -lopez has since put up a MINT panny 7700 , on a bin -- and that has also sat on ebay all day with no bites

redbenjoe - 2008-04-07 19:21

hey - wake up all
Lopez just reduced his c100f price and added free shipping

driptip - 2008-04-07 21:18

i remember in the past (2 OR 3 ) years ago, they used togo for 1200-1500 but they were close to mint condition.

blaster - 2008-04-07 21:25

hey drip you still got your boxed up one? Cool

I noticed it right away. Nice box. But not my 1200 dropper. That thing is super thick. Good luck with the sale. 1000 bin might hit if not current in 4 or 5 days still selling?

baby.boomer - 2008-04-08 04:21

Ah, the good ol' days, when candy bars were a nickel, phone calls cost a dime, gas was 29.9ยข a gallon, and Conion65 first stunned us (well me, anyway) with $1000+ prices for his C-100F's. Those innocent times are gone forever, I guess. Today it seems boombox collecting really has become a rich man's sport.

redbenjoe - 2008-04-08 05:08

we all should gas up now !!!

the old 29.9 cents will be back --
for an OUNCE

Great thread! I think my Conion, missing the tray and cassette door might have been the last expensive parts box to sell. Although it was all working.

I gave up hope of ever getting those parts, so I sold it on. As I like my BBX to be complete and close to MINT as possible.

Has someone bought Ira's Panasonic 'monster' yet?! Gosh I love that thing! Didnt those used to be sick money too? Its a bargan right now in my book, Im just short on funds!!!!

There still are deals to be hand, not that Sanyo M9935's are a grail by any stretch of the imagination. But I did pick up a dead MINT one from Sinister last week.

Anyone else moved on to collecting three piece boxes too? Ive kinda just discovered those...

redbenjoe - 2008-04-08 15:27
