http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160215877599I know that starting price is a little high;
but that is my base cost, not counting my labor.
Since eBay is dry of M70s (except for the one
that is listed in the Dinnerware Category);
I decided to put it up for sale.
All the Good and Bad are listed in the Auction.
If Cosmetic Issues Bother you; Please stay away from it and do not bid.

meyhar, it doesn't hurt to try for your base line if your honest about the condition. Where the bad taste comes from is when sellers try to pass off a box that is not nearly as good as described.
Good luck.
hi mehyar --please check to see if the s/h fee on your ebay listing is accurate or not
thanks , it was wrong size package ,
is it reasonable now to FL ?
thats is probably the average going s/h rate -
but you are making me look bad
sorry i did not intend to do that
i always have guess work in ebay shipping calculator and after it is sold i end up
paying more at the post office to ship it

Shipping just dropped by about 65% so It looks like it did make a small difference.
"Cosmetic issues" don't bother me but the price should reflect all of those issues this one has. $100.00 would be well paid for this one for sure. We never get back what $ we put in a boombox unless it is a rare one and m70's are more common than houseflys in july....

I saw the shipping and I was like
Now that the shipping is lower. So should the start price. Start lower and post a higher bin.
Doubtful you'll get bites. But... I am often wrong
yes nice,
but what is the big deal with starting price anyways ??
an ebay auction as we all know is really important at
its last few seconds and the last bids
starting price is just a figure, a number
if the starting price is 10000.00 then it wont sell.
what is wrong with increasing the bottom price for M70s ??
i think ebay should put in a new rule for their auctions:
All Bidders Must Put In ONE BID before the last Hour of an Auction
This way the price of an item will get better treatment and
those last second bidders show themselves sooner.
The truth of the matter is that NOBODY wants to spend 300 dollars for a radio. Now, whether your radio will sell for 300 dollars or 1000 dollars is another matter.
But, telling people to spend AT LEAST 300 dollars immediately gets rid of a vast number of bidders who are acting on logic and reason. You haven't given them time to get hungry for your item. You've already ruined their appetite.
The psychology of the matter is that if you start the auction lower, more people will bid on your item. The greed and want of the bidders takes care of itself, ensuring that you get a decent bidding war which ultimately drives up the price.
The dude who is willing to spend 400 for your radio will do so no matter how you list the start price, but then why not ensure you have a whole load of other bidders who may just want to challenge that one dude?
I may be wrong, but the way the auction stands, you may or may not get someone who will bid for your radio, but don't expect to much action.
Anway, thats just my opinion and I am prepared to stand corrected.
Good luck with your auction anyhow!
NOBODY is forcing anybody to bid on my box or that box with three lines of questionable? description.
1st choice: don't bid at all and forget it
2nd choice: bid in the last second on a mystery box and get what you get and live with it.
3rd choice: bid and win a box with full honest description and no surprises
Thanks for well wishes and description of auctions.
As a seller, I can choose my starting price.
As a buyer, they can lose appetite or whatever.
It only costs a few dollars to list it.
Either it sells or it doesn't.
The M70 is hooked up to its brothers (M50 and M60 and another M70)with Line-In and Line-Outs; and the boys can always wake up the neighbors.
Now isn't that more important that all this ?
Yep. I know nobody is forcing anybody.
But you did ask.
Good luck anyways!
Most M70's in much better condition than yours have not been selling for $300.00 and there is no guarentee with yours anymore than there is with the others. On top of that, yours has alot of wear on the sides ect... so why do you expect so much??
